COOKING.

In the art of cooking, you need many different tools. These are:
Pots, Stoves, Knives, Spatulas and various other cooking items that will be explained in the runescape manual.
Do not cook potatoes on a fire, because you will always burn them, trust me I know, I wasted a whole harvest of potatoes on a fire once, trying.
DO the COOK'S QUEST in Lumbridge Castle, as it is great for getting your cooking up to standard. It gives about 600 XP (experience points) which is enough to get you up to at least level 6 in cooking.

I have concentrated on MAGIC and WIZARDING skills (dad has been increasing combat levels ignoring magic for the moment).
The easiest way to get WIZARD ROBES is to go to the WIZARD'S TOWER, west of VARROCK, and kill a WIZARD if you are over LEVEL 9 for COMBAT LEVEL (and have a high HIT POINTS level). Wizards can kill you even at long range, so the higher your HP (hit points) the better.
You can not always expect to get it first time, it took me ages to get my first set, because he gives coins and other items instead of the clothes at random.
There are many different types of quests.
For beginners I would recommend the SHEEP SHEARER'S quest, since it gives you a small amount of money, and valuable CRAFTING XP (XP stands for experience points). Crafting XP can be used to make MOST items in Runescape. I have made many things with my crafting level, for example, buckets, glass beads, pots, and you can carve uncut gemstones into more valuable cut gems, which you can sell for lots at the GENERAL STORES in LUMBRIDGE, VARROCK, EDGEVILLE and FALLADOR.
ARMOUR
Beginners should note that you can equip Bronze and Iron at the start, but you can only EQUIP STEEL at or above LEVEL 5 (Combat Level).
To get to LEVEL 5 easily, go to LUMBRIDGE SWAMP to the south of that town, and attack RATS and SPIDERS. Since you only get out of the TRAINING area at level 3, these should not kill you as they are level 2. However they will drain your HITPOINTS (HP) so be careful, and RUN AWAY if your HP get too low.
As at April 2007, my dad bought me and my brother a year's MEMBERSHIP, well worth the £3 a month it works out at. Tom is concentrating on GARDENING, HERB LORE and HUNTING skills, I am concentating on MAGIC and GARDENING.

We have all built a house at Rimmington, it cost 1000 coins to buy from the ESTATE AGENT in FALLADOR. If you want to make a basic fireplace, you must be level 3 CONSTRUCTION and must have soft clay. Make soft clay by getting a bucket full of water from a well and click on the water, then click on the clay in your rucksack. You can get CLAY from various Mining Sites such as the one near Rimmington.
